In a striking demonstration of unity and patriotism, the Pakistani-American community in Houston gathered for a special corner meeting on Thursday evening at Jinnah Hall, located within the Pakistan Center. The meeting was held in response to India’s recent unprovoked missile attacks on Bahawalpur, Kotli, and Muzaffarabad—areas in Pakistan now at the center of heightened regional tensions and global concern.

Spearheaded by Mr. Siraj Narsi, President of the Pakistan Association of Greater Houston (PAGH), the event brought together prominent community leaders, professionals, young activists, and ethnic media representatives. United in purpose, participants condemned the attacks and reaffirmed their unwavering support for the people and armed forces of Pakistan during this challenging time.

The meeting provided a vital platform to denounce the violation of Pakistan’s sovereignty and to reinforce the overseas Pakistani community’s deep-rooted commitment to peace, justice, and national integrity. Despite geographical distance, attendees underscored their emotional and patriotic connection to their homeland.

Respected community figure Dr. Asaf Riaz Qadeer addressed the gathering with heartfelt conviction, stating, “We are not here merely out of concern—we are here out of commitment. Our voice in Houston is part of a global chorus standing with Pakistan.” Dr. Qadeer also shared a letter he had written to the Pakistani Caucus in the United States Congress, advocating for a balanced perspective and urging support for Pakistan’s position in the pursuit of a dignified peace.

Consul General of Pakistan in Houston, Mr. Aftab Chaudhry, delivered an impassioned message encouraging unity and resilience. “In the face of unwarranted aggression, the strength and solidarity of the diaspora are more important than ever. Let the world see that we stand united with our nation.”

Addressing the audience virtually from Washington, D.C., Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, Mr. Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, emphasized the importance of principled resistance. “Peace must remain our goal, but not at the cost of national dignity or through submission. Silence in the face of injustice only empowers aggressors. Whether at home or abroad, our duty is to stand firm in defense of truth and sovereignty.”

A special dua (prayer) was offered for the safety and strength of Pakistan and its people. Emotions ran deep as attendees joined in prayer for peace, while pledging to challenge misinformation and amplify Pakistan’s narrative on global platforms.

The gathering concluded with a unified call to action, urging Pakistani-Americans to stay informed, vigilant, and actively involved in promoting Pakistan’s interests and peaceful vision for the region.
