The Rung Film Festival (RFF) proudly announces its inaugural edition, making history as the first film festival in Houston dedicated to showcasing independent films by Pakistani filmmakers and global creatives. “Rūng,” the Urdu word for “color,” symbolizes diversity, storytelling, and cultural expression—core elements of this groundbreaking event.
A Platform for Pakistani American Creatives
The Rung Film Festival is the only festival in North America that exclusively highlights films from filmmakers of Pakistani heritage. With a strong emphasis on inclusivity, RFF welcomes submissions from around the world, fostering an international dialogue through cinema.

Supported by esteemed Pakistani American Hollywood actors Faran Tahir (Iron Man) and Kamran Shaikh (Outer Banks), RFF provides a unique platform for emerging voices in film and entertainment. The festival is part of Indus Arts Council’s programming, committed to amplifying diverse narratives.
