HOUSTON: A celebration of Urdu poetry and cultural heritage came alive in Houston as renowned poet and television personality Wasi Shah took part in a special poetry evening attended by members of the Pakistani-American community, literary enthusiasts, and Urdu poetry lovers.
Wasi Shah’s presence added a special charm and distinctive character to the gathering. His poetry, filled with emotion, reflection, and thought-provoking themes, captivated the audience. The strong turnout and enthusiastic response highlighted the Pakistani community’s continued connection with the Urdu language and its literary traditions while living abroad.

Faheem Akhoond, President of the Jamia Karachi Alumni Association Houston and Founder of Pak American Voice, was also present at the event alongside community members. Attendees enjoyed Wasi Shah’s poetry and actively participated in the literary and cultural gathering.
The participation of Pakistan Children Relief also added an important dimension to the event, connecting the cultural celebration with the cause of children’s education and welfare.
