HOUSTON, TX — The Dil Dil Pakistan panel is poised for a possible unopposed victory in the Pakistan Association of Greater Houston (PAGH) elections for the 2026–2028 term, as no competing group has reportedly come forward to contest the announced positions. The final decision, however, will rest with the PAGH Election Committee following scrutiny of the nomination papers and completion of the official election process.
The PAGH Election Committee has received nomination papers for five key positions, including President, Secretary General, Director of Education, Director of Cultural and Religious Affairs, and Director of Publications and Communications.

Representing the Dil Dil Pakistan group, the following candidates submitted their nomination papers:
- Shahid Javed Hashmi — Candidate for President
- Imtiaz Ahsan — Candidate for Secretary General
- Faysal Aziz Khan — Candidate for Director of Education
- Khurram Zai — Candidate for Director of Cultural and Religious Affairs
- Nusrat Harris — Candidate for Director of Publications and Communications
The nomination papers were received by Election Committee Chairman Danish Ali Ahmad, along with committee members Amjad Qaimkhani, Muhammad Sadiq Khan, Khizar Pathan, and Shahzad Ahmad.
Following the scrutiny process, the Election Committee will issue the final list of eligible candidates and announce the next steps in accordance with the election schedule.
With no rival panel reportedly entering the contest so far, the Dil Dil Pakistan team appears to be in a strong position to secure all five positions without a contested election. However, an unopposed victory cannot be considered official until the Election Committee completes its review and makes a formal announcement.

The PAGH elections are significant for Houston’s Pakistani-American community, as the association plays an important role in bringing together community members, promoting Pakistani culture and heritage, supporting educational initiatives, and strengthening social and cultural connections.
The coming days are expected to bring further clarity as the Election Committee completes the nomination scrutiny and formally determines the status of the candidates for the 2026–2028 leadership term.
