Nick Jonas Faces Backlash After Tweeting Elon Musk

Nick Jonas and Elon Musk had a cheeky exchange on X

Nick Jonas found himself at the center of a social media controversy following an unexpected exchange with tech mogul Elon Musk.

The Tweet That Sparked the Storm

On Tuesday, December 17, the 32-year-old singer responded to a tweet from the 53-year-old SpaceX CEO, which quickly ignited a firestorm among fans. Musk had posted a GIF of the Jonas Brothers with the caption, “My, how the tables have turned!” referencing Tesla’s success following Donald Trump’s election. Nick, finding humor in the post, retweeted it with a playful comment: “Take us to the Year 3000,” along with a smiling photo of Musk.

Fans Question Nick’s Intentions

The lighthearted exchange quickly turned controversial. Musk’s political connections and divisive views led some fans to question whether Nick was endorsing the tech mogul’s stance. Given Musk’s ties to former president Trump and his influential role in politics, many were left wondering if Jonas was subtly aligning himself with these figures.

Calls for Accountability and Support

Responses ranged from frustration to support. One fan wrote, “Delete this,” while others criticized Jonas for potentially backing someone they deemed controversial. “Be better, Nick,” one user wrote, condemning Musk’s influence on vulnerable groups. Some also tagged Nick’s wife, Priyanka Chopra, questioning her role in his social media activity.

However, not all reactions were negative. One user welcomed Nick’s comment, saying, “Welcome aboard, Nick!” Another offered a more balanced perspective: “You can think Elon has good ideas and is a visionary AND still disagree with him sometimes. Same with Trump. They both used to be Democrats. Maybe we should all collectively chill and stop being so polarising.”
