HOUSTON: The Quaid-e-Azam Foundation Houston hosted a reception at the Jinnah Library in honor of Elizabeth Threlkeld, a renowned South Asia affairs expert based in Washington, D.C. The event highlighted the personality, political struggle, and historical legacy of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, while also shedding light on the foundation’s educational and research activities.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Asif Qadeer spoke about the foundation’s efforts to preserve the historical legacy of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and pass it on to future generations. He explained that the foundation’s activities include preserving historical events, important documents, and scholarly materials related to Quaid-e-Azam and making them accessible to the public and researchers.

Speaking on the occasion, Elizabeth Threlkeld thanked Dr. Asif Qadeer and the Quaid-e-Azam Foundation. She said that before visiting Houston, she had not realized that the city housed such an important collection of historical and scholarly materials related to Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. She described her visit to the Jinnah Library as an inspiring experience.
Threlkeld said the Jinnah Library serves as an important educational resource in Houston, helping connect the Pakistani community with the history of Pakistan and the legacy of Quaid-e-Azam. She noted that Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah is an extremely important historical figure, but further historical research and resources are needed to gain a deeper understanding of his life, political struggle, and the circumstances of his time.

She described the collection at the Jinnah Library as a valuable resource in this regard, noting that such educational centers not only support the study of history but also play an important role in introducing younger generations to their historical heritage.
The event also highlighted the active role of Houston’s Pakistani American community in preserving and promoting its historical, educational, and cultural heritage. The scholarly and research activities of the Jinnah Library and Quaid-e-Azam Foundation continue to contribute to strengthening educational and cultural connections with Pakistan and promoting awareness of Quaid-e-Azam’s legacy among the Pakistani American community.
