The Islamic Society of Greater Houston (ISGH) has announced a large community gathering for Eid prayers to celebrate the upcoming Eid al-Fitr in Houston. The event, titled “Eid Prayer at Large,” will take place at the Bayou City Event Center and is expected to bring together hundreds of families from across the region.
According to organizers, the Eid gathering will be held on March 19 or March 20, 2026, depending on the sighting of the moon marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
The event will feature U.S. Congressman Al Green as a special guest, highlighting the importance of unity, community engagement, and interfaith harmony during the celebration.

Two congregational Eid prayers have been scheduled to accommodate the expected large turnout:
- First Prayer: 9:00 AM
- Second Prayer: 10:30 AM
The prayers will be led by Ammar Al‑Shukry, a respected Islamic scholar and speaker.
Organizers have also arranged children’s gift bags, making the event family-friendly and welcoming for attendees of all ages. Parking will be available at the venue, with a small parking fee where cash is preferred.
The Bayou City Event Center, located at 9401 Knight Road, will host the prayers followed by a community gathering where families and friends can celebrate the joyous occasion together.
Community members are encouraged to register in advance and arrive early to ensure smooth entry and participation in the prayers.
The Islamic Society of Greater Houston noted that events like these help strengthen bonds within the Muslim community while also promoting cultural understanding and unity across the wider Houston area.
