Houston’s literary atmosphere became even more vibrant when Pakistan Association of Greater Houston hosted a captivating event titled “Kitab o Chai” (Books and Tea). The gathering was far more than a simple event—it was a beautiful fusion of knowledge, refined taste, and love for the Urdu language, organized in honor of the distinguished literary figure, Parvez Jafri. Literature enthusiasts from across the city attended in large numbers, turning the evening into a graceful and memorable assembly.

Mr. Parvez Jafri, the Founder and President of the Aligarh Alumni Association Houston and an active force behind the Urdu Markaz website, was the central figure of the evening. His presence added depth and distinction to the occasion. The event was hosted with elegance by Siraj Narsi, President of the America Pakistan Association of Greater Houston, whose warm welcome set a tone of dignity and hospitality while highlighting the significance of such literary gatherings.

During the discussion session, Adeel Zaidi, Arif Imam, Tazeen Zahida, and Ishrat Afreen shared their thoughtful reflections. Each speaker praised Mr. Jafri’s intellectual insight, literary contributions, and dedicated efforts toward promoting the Urdu language. Ilyas Baig also enriched the evening with his remarks, adding intellectual depth and meaning to the program.
