A splendid gathering of University of Karachi alumni was held in Houston, reviving cherished memories of the past for everyone present. These former students, living abroad, maintain their bond with their alma mater not merely through memories, but by dedicating their time, thought, resources, and actions to keep this connection alive.
The evening’s fundraising was not just about collecting a few donations; it was a manifestation of collective consciousness, a shared message, and a united purpose. The event was made even more special by the gracious hosting of Sophia Siddiqui. Her gentle tone, eloquent words, and ability to keep the program cohesive transformed the gathering from a simple event into a seamless narrative, where each moment felt beautifully connected to the next.

Prime examples of this dedication were shown by President Azam Akhtar, General Secretary Ghulam Mohiuddin Chishti, and Directors Abdul Rehman Patel, Aftab Salat, Feroz Ahmed, Aamir Sabzwari, Shahab Alvi, Sohail Ahmed, Abdul Rauf Khan, and Tahir Wafaqani. These individuals are not merely an administrative team—they are beacons of knowledge illuminating the path from Houston to Karachi. Their hard work, focus, and vision have transformed this association into a movement.

Every attendee who had once been a student of the University of Karachi was not just a guest but a responsible custodian of their alma mater. Their faces reflected pride, their hearts held memories, and within them was a silent pledge never to let their university stand alone. This very spirit motivates them to contribute donations and be part of this mission every year.
Last year, this fundraising drive raised 2.5 million PKR, reaching 65 students. This year, the same spirit, trust, and active participation of the community increased this number to 150 students. This was more than just fundraising—it was an expression of confidence by the community in the association and the belief that made exceeding the target possible.
