A proud moment for the Pakistani American community unfolded in Houston, Texas, as the University of Houston Pakistani Alumni hosted the inaugural ceremony of a scholarship program made possible through the generosity of successful Pakistani Americans.

The Alumni association, formed just two years ago, announced that with the help of these donors, 14 deserving students have already received scholarships, while two endowments have also been created to ensure long-term support for future generations.

Organizers emphasized that these scholarships are not just financial assistance, but a true investment in the future of young students—giving them hope, opportunities, and the means to fulfill their academic dreams.

Special recognition was given to leading donors who made this possible: Syed Javed Anwar, Asif and Sadaf Wadiwala, Hassan Ali Dhanani, Al Nisa Ashfaq, Saeed Sheikh, and the Houston-Karachi Sister City Association. Their names, along with Literacy in Houston, will live on through the scholarships awarded to students in their honor.
The evening celebrated not only generosity, but also the strong bond of Pakistani Americans with education and their commitment to empowering future leaders in their adopted homeland.
