The Pakistani American Voters Association (PAVA) made history by hosting its first-ever youth-focused program in celebration of International Youth Day at Elite Indo-Pak Restaurant. The event brought together student activists, emerging leaders, and community voices for an evening dedicated to inspiration, dialogue, and collaboration.

PAVA President Abdul Rauf Khan opened the program by sharing the organization’s vision for fostering future leaders. He emphasized that PAVA’s mission extends beyond electoral participation, aiming to create lasting pathways for youth to excel in politics, education, and public service.

The evening honored an exceptional group of young achievers — Bushra Amiwala, Fariz Afzal, Mishal Gardezi, Shehroze Kayani, Elsa Syed, Nisho Siddiqui, Misha Rafiq, Meena Peperani, and Azza Rizvi — each recognized for impactful contributions in civic engagement, educational reform, technology, healthcare, environmental sustainability, and cultural development.

A highlight of the event was an interactive debate and Q&A session moderated by Judge Sonia Rash and Afshi Charania, which engaged the audience in thoughtful discussions on leadership, critical thinking, and active listening.
The program was masterfully coordinated by MC Qaiser Imam, with strong organizational support from PAVA General Secretary Abdul Rehman Patel and team member Azam Akhtar. Their efforts were central to the event’s success.
As the celebration concluded, organizers stressed that this gathering was not an endpoint but the beginning of a sustained movement for youth leadership in Houston’s Pakistani-American community.
