The Fort Bend County District Clerk’s Office, led by District Clerk Beverley McGrew Walker, celebrated the grand opening of its newly expanded Passport Acceptance Facility at the Fort Bend Justice Center in Richmond, Texas. This milestone marks a significant step toward enhancing public service for the county’s diverse and growing population.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony, hosted by Chief Deputy District Clerk Haroon Moughal, saw the participation of Sara Khan, Chief Operations Manager, and special guest Faisal Aziz Khan, senior journalist visiting the U.S. Dignitaries, elected officials, community leaders, and citizens from across the county gathered to witness the official launch of this upgraded facility.

Haroon Moughal shared that the Passport Office processes around 24,000 new and renewal applications annually, contributing approximately $1 million in additional revenue to the county’s general fund.

Sara Khan highlighted the importance of this expansion for the community: “This is a great step by District Clerk Beverley Walker to serve our diverse communities. With my experience, I intend to continue serving the county with dignity, integrity, and excellence in customer service.”
Community leaders, including Muzaffar Vohra, praised the expansion as a positive development for international travelers, ensuring faster, more efficient services.
The office will continue accepting Form DS-11 new and renewal applications by appointment at both the Fort Bend Justice Center and the Sienna Annex in Missouri City. Walk-ins are also welcomed and accommodated between scheduled appointments.

Applicants are encouraged to visit the District Clerk’s website to review application requirements, service options, and passport costs. The office also offers on-site passport photos and payment support services.
This expansion reflects Fort Bend County’s commitment to meeting the needs of its dynamic, multicultural community and ensuring accessible, efficient services for all residents.
