April: A Month of Awareness and Action
April is observed as Child Abuse Prevention Month, a nationwide initiative focused on raising awareness and protecting vulnerable children. The Sugar Land Police Department, along with community leaders, child advocates, and local organizations, participated in the event to highlight the importance of prevention, education, and early intervention.

Among those in attendance was Naushad Kermally, Sugar Land City Council mayoral candidate, who joined the event to show support for the cause and advocate for a safer community for children.

A Community United Against Child Abuse
The event featured inspiring messages from advocates, a symbolic lighting ceremony, and community pledges to stand against child abuse. Through continuous education, awareness, and collective action, communities can create a safer environment for children and work toward a future free from abuse.
