Texas House of Representatives Declares March 23 as ‘Pakistan Day’

The Texas House of Representatives has officially recognized March 23rd as ‘Pakistan Day’, marking a significant milestone for the Pakistani-American community. This resolution acknowledges their invaluable contributions to Texas in various social, religious, linguistic, and economic spheres.

Resolution Presented by Dr. Salman Lalani
State Assembly Member Dr. Salman Lalani spearheaded the resolution, emphasizing the vital role played by Pakistani Texans in the state’s progress. Their expertise, cultural heritage, and commitment to peace and prosperity have significantly enriched Texas.

Consul General Attends Approval Ceremony
During the resolution’s approval, Consul General of Pakistan in Texas, Muhammad Aftab Chaudhry, was present in the House, highlighting the diplomatic importance of this initiative.

Meeting with Texas House Speaker
Following the approval, Consul General Aftab Chaudhry met Speaker Dustin Burrows to express gratitude for supporting the resolution. During their discussion, the Consul General extended an official invitation to Pakistan for the Speaker, state representatives, and business leaders to strengthen economic and cultural ties between both nations.

Iftar Dinner at Texas Capitol
Later, Dr. Salman Lalani hosted an Iftar dinner at the Texas Capitol to honor members of the Texas legislature and local dignitaries. The event brought together prominent figures from various fields, fostering deeper community engagement.
