$10,000 Scholarship Opportunity for Houston High School Seniors
Houston – College tuition is getting more expensive, but there’s a chance for 10 lucky high school seniors to receive a $10,000 scholarship to help with their tuition. This opportunity comes through the inaugural Daikin’s Most Valuable STEAM Scholarship, which was announced by the Astros Foundation and Daikin Comfort Technologies North America, Inc.. Applications for this scholarship opened on March 3, 2025, and will be accepted until April 14, 2025.

Daikin’s Most Valuable STEAM Scholarship Overview
The Daikin Most Valuable STEAM Scholarship recognizes students excelling in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM). This scholarship goes beyond just STEM by including fields like fine arts, architecture, and labor design. Ten graduating seniors will receive $10,000 each as part of this annual scholarship initiative.

Scholarship Application Requirements
To apply for the Daikin Most Valuable STEAM Scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- A 300-word essay on the importance of STEAM education and how it has helped with personal growth, academic achievements, and career aspirations.
- Graduating high school seniors from the class of 2025 who plan to attend an accredited higher education institution. Proof of acceptance is required.
- A permanent address in one of the following Texas counties: Austin, Brazoria, Chambers, Fort Bend, Galveston, Harris, Liberty, Montgomery, San Jacinto, Walker, Waller, or Wharton.
- Submit the application by the deadline and include two letters of recommendation from adults.
Daikin’s Big League Debut with the Astros
This announcement comes just days after Daikin’s big-league debut with the Houston Astros and the City of Houston. The event included a traditional sake barrel tapping ceremony to honor Daikin’s Japanese heritage, marking the beginning of their partnership with the Astros.
