GOGO Charters Set to Launch New Bus Service Across Texas
Affordable Travel Option Coming for Houston-Area Residents
Houston residents may soon have a new way to travel within the region and across Texas. GOGO Charters, a Texas-based company that has been renting charter buses in major U.S. cities since 2012, plans to launch daily scheduled bus services this year.
Planned Routes Across Major Cities
The upcoming service will connect Houston to Dallas-Fort Worth and San Antonio, with stops in Katy and The Woodlands. Additional routes are planned along the Interstate 35 corridor from Dallas-Fort Worth to San Antonio, as well as trips to and from Corpus Christi.
Targeting Business Professionals and Event Travelers
According to a company spokesperson, Texas will serve as the testing ground for this service, which aims to provide an alternative to air, rail, and personal vehicle travel. The spokesperson highlighted the demand for group travel options, especially with Texas hosting major events like conferences, sporting competitions, and next summer’s World Cup.
“We see a gap in the market and want to meet that need,” the spokesperson said. “We’re preparing for large events, including the World Cup, to be in the right position to serve travelers.”
Competing with Existing Operators
Currently, the Houston area has four private intercity bus operators: Greyhound, FlixBus, RedCoach, and Vonlane. METRO also provides regional public bus services. GOGO Charters aims to offer a balance between affordability and luxury, bridging the gap between budget and high-end operators.
Comfort and Convenience for Passengers
The fleet will feature buses less than five years old, equipped with reclining leather seats, onboard WiFi, restrooms, and, in some cases, food and drink service. Starting fares for short trips, like Houston to Katy or The Woodlands, will be $10.
Details on long-distance fares, daily schedules, station locations, and baggage policies will be announced soon. Travelers will also be able to book tickets and receive updates through the GOGO Charters mobile app.
With its combination of convenience and affordability, GOGO Charters aims to establish itself as a major player in Texas’ transportation landscape.
