While Beyoncé had not officially endorsed Harris before the event, the vice president has been using Beyoncé’s song “Freedom” as her campaign walkout anthem. The singer introduced Harris with a bold statement: “Please welcome the next president of the United States, Kamala Harris.”

Harris addressed the crowd, emphasizing Texas’s role in the battle for reproductive freedom. People have died,” Harris said, underscoring the gravity of the issue.

The rally also featured emotional accounts from women affected by Texas’s abortion bans. Ondrea, a Texas woman, shared her traumatic story of being denied critical medical care during a nonviable pregnancy. “These abortion bans nearly cost me my life,” she told the audience, describing the physical and emotional scars she endured. Her experience was also highlighted in a Harris campaign ad released earlier in the week.
Star-Studded Support for Harris
The event included appearances by legendary folk singer Willie Nelson, Texas Rep. Colin Allred, and Beyoncé’s mother, Tina Knowles, who has previously campaigned for Harris. Despite initial interruptions by protesters, the rally maintained its focus on abortion rights as a pivotal issue for voters.
