Houston: The Houston Community of Media Expo 2026 brought together media professionals, elected officials, and community leaders for meaningful discussions on key issues affecting the city’s diverse communities.
The event featured distinguished speakers, including Elisa Villanueva Beard, President and CEO of Houston Endowment; Erica Lee Carter, Harris County Administrator; and Ruth López Turley, Director of the Kinder Institute.

A major highlight of the program was a session titled “Elected Officials & Ethnic Media – The Issues We Care About Most.” The discussion featured Texas State Representatives Dr. Suleman Lalani, Ron Reynolds, and Penny Morales Shaw, with Harris County Commissioner Lesley Briones also among the featured guests.
The expo aimed to strengthen dialogue between media professionals and elected officials while highlighting the concerns, needs, and priorities of communities from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
