HOUSTON, Texas, October 8, 2026 — A Tomball-based company has issued a voluntary nationwide recall of its RAPTURE Preworkout dietary supplement after testing by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) found an illegal stimulant that can pose serious risks to heart health.

Leader Formulas, LLC, announced the recall of one lot of the powdered supplement after FDA testing detected 1,3-dimethylamylamine (DMAA). The substance is not permitted in products marketed as dietary supplements in the United States. The FDA has warned that DMAA can raise blood pressure and cause potentially serious cardiovascular problems. citeturn716223search0turn716223search3

The recall affects products bearing lot number 260327-4. The supplement was sold in 450-gram plastic containers and distributed nationwide through retail stores and the company’s website between January 29, 2025, and May 25, 2026.

The affected flavors and product codes are:

  • Rainbow Twist: UPC 710154236506
  • Electric Lemonade: UPC 710143236513
  • Berry Mojito: UPC 710154236544

Consumers should check the lot number on their containers, as the recall applies to the identified lot rather than every product sold under the RAPTURE brand. citeturn716223search0

Health Risks and Consumer Advice

DMAA, also known as methylhexanamine or sometimes marketed under the name “geranium extract,” can narrow blood vessels and increase blood pressure. Possible health effects include shortness of breath, chest tightness and serious cardiovascular events, including heart attack. The risks may be greater when DMAA is combined with other stimulants, such as caffeine. citeturn716223search3

The company advises customers who purchased the recalled product to stop using it immediately and return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.

Consumers who have used the product and are experiencing health problems should contact a healthcare professional. Anyone experiencing severe chest pain, serious breathing difficulties or other potentially life-threatening symptoms should seek emergency medical care.

As of the company’s recall announcement, no adverse events related to the recall had been reported. citeturn716223search0

How to Contact the Company or Report a Reaction

Customers with questions can contact Leader Formulas at 832-855-7562 or email Patrick@leaderformulas.com, Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Central Time.

Consumers who believe the supplement caused an adverse reaction can report it through the FDA’s MedWatch adverse-event reporting program. The FDA also advises consumers to exercise caution with workout and bodybuilding supplements because products marketed as dietary supplements may contain potentially harmful ingredients that are not disclosed on their labels. citeturn716223search0turn716223search8

The recall serves as a reminder for Houston-area fitness enthusiasts to check supplement labels and lot numbers, pay attention to FDA safety alerts and avoid using products that have been recalled.
