Houston: The Organization of Spanish Speaking Officers (OSSO) hosted the ‘Boots, Badges & Bling Gala,’ bringing together Houston’s law enforcement community to honor the dedication and service of officers while supporting educational opportunities for the next generation.
The event recognized the contributions of law enforcement officers and their families and highlighted efforts to help students pursue higher education through scholarships.
During the gala, the Garcia family was honored for its generations of service. Deputy Martin Garcia received the Courage Award in recognition of his bravery and service, while 10 students were awarded educational scholarships.
The event emphasized that honoring the service of law enforcement officers and their families, while investing in the education and future of young people, is a shared responsibility of the community.
OSSO was also commended for its continued efforts to support officers and their families and create educational opportunities for students.
