In a major step toward advancing healthcare collaboration between Pakistan and the United States, Muhammad Idrees, a prominent industrialist and CEO of Sitara Chemical Industries, was warmly welcomed during his recent visit to Houston. Widely recognized for his business acumen and humanitarian efforts, Mr. Idrees has been instrumental in founding institutions like Aziz Fatima Hospital, a medical university, and a dental college in Faisalabad, which continue to serve the public with distinction.

Currently, Mr. Idrees is spearheading the construction of the Aziz Fatima Super Specialty Hospital, a modern 17-story facility set to become operational by the end of this year, Insha’Allah. The first two floors—housing essential departments—are expected to open soon.

To support this initiative, Marfani Foundation USA and Medical Bridges have partnered to provide vital medical supplies. Equipment such as hospital beds, diagnostic machines, and surgical tools will be shipped in phases via 40-foot containers, aligned with the hospital’s expanding needs. The aim is to deliver world-class healthcare services to patients from all socioeconomic backgrounds.

This visit was more than ceremonial; it laid the foundation for a strategic, long-term partnership focused on enhancing Pakistan’s healthcare delivery through global cooperation and resource mobilization.

The success of the visit was made possible through the dedicated efforts of Lion Izhar Ahmad, PMJF, Chairman of the Pakistan Welfare Project of Marfani Foundation USA, and A. Rehman Patel, Executive Director, whose coordination and support were key to the initiative.

During his stay, Mr. Idrees toured Medical Bridges, where he was briefed on their operational structure, logistics, and medical inventory systems. Impressed by their vision and efficiency, he expressed a strong interest in establishing a lasting partnership to support healthcare institutions in Pakistan.

A special tribute was extended to Mehmood Marfani, CEO of Marfani Foundation, who, despite current health challenges, continues to inspire this mission. His legacy of compassion, leadership, and public service remains a guiding force in efforts to improve healthcare access and quality.
