The second official planning meeting for the much-anticipated #ActPakistanFestival, celebrating Pakistan’s 78th Independence Day, was held this week in Houston. The session was led by Saeed Sheikh, with strong participation from respected community members and stakeholders.

Scheduled for Saturday, August 16, 2025, the festival promises to be a grand celebration of Pakistani culture, unity, and heritage. This week’s meeting focused on finalizing key aspects of the event — including logistics, cultural programming, and community involvement.

One of the major developments was the generous offer from Shahid Hashmi and Mrs. Shahid Hashmi, who announced that their venue, Legacy Pointe Events, will host the festival. Their contribution was met with heartfelt appreciation and marked a significant milestone in event planning.

The festival is being organized through a joint effort by the Consulate General of Pakistan in Houston, the Pakistani Association of Greater Houston (PAGH), and the Houston-Karachi Sister City Association.

Festival Highlights Will Include:

  • Live traditional music and cultural performances
  • Food stalls serving authentic Pakistani cuisine
  • Artisan displays and fun-filled family activities

Organizers emphasized that the event will be free and open to the public, providing an opportunity for families, youth, and individuals to come together and celebrate Pakistan’s legacy in the heart of Houston.
