On the evening of Thursday, the Pakistani-American community of Houston came together at Reza Persian Grill to host a distinguished dinner reception in honor of Dr. Mirza Ikhtiar Baig — a prominent businessman, philanthropist, recipient of Tamgha-e-Imtiaz and Order of Merit, and a respected Member of Pakistan’s National Assembly.

The event served as a tribute to Dr. Baig’s decades-long commitment to economic development, international diplomacy, and public welfare. His accomplishments in both the private and public sectors have earned him admiration across borders, and his presence in Houston was welcomed with deep respect and warmth.

The evening featured heartfelt speeches, reflections on Dr. Baig’s impact, and a celebration of shared values between Pakistan and its diaspora in the United States. Among the notable attendees was Aftab Chaudhary, Consul General of Pakistan in Houston, who praised Dr. Baig’s contributions and emphasized the role of overseas Pakistanis in strengthening bilateral relations.

The event was made possible by the thoughtful efforts of hosts Muhammad Saeed Sheikh, Riaz Hussain Kakakhel, Siraj Narsi, and Zafar Iqbal, whose hospitality created a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

It was a night of pride and unity — where community leaders, professionals, and well-wishers came together not only to honor a national icon but also to reinforce the powerful ties between Pakistan and its global citizens. The celebration underscored the importance of engagement, leadership, and the lasting impact of service-driven lives.
