Houston Mayor John Whitmire proudly commemorated the 10th anniversary of the Aga Khan Museum, recognizing the institution’s vital role in showcasing the power of art, culture, and pluralism.

Highlighting Houston’s unique connection, Mayor Whitmire noted that the city is home to the largest Ismaili community in the United States, with over 40,000 members who contribute significantly to Houston’s civic, cultural, and educational landscape.
“It was a pleasure to catch up with Prince Amyn Aga Khan and honor this global milestone right here in Houston,” said Mayor Whitmire.
The Aga Khan Museum, established a decade ago, has become a beacon of cultural understanding and artistic excellence, reflecting the diverse heritage and values celebrated by the Ismaili community locally and worldwide.

Houston continues to embrace and celebrate its rich cultural diversity, strengthening its reputation as a vibrant and inclusive city.
